He was amongst the first group of students to receive Shodan (His Black Belt) in Kanzen Ryu and was privileged to be taught and train under the founder of Kanzen Ryu Karate Farhad Verasteh.
Shinan Homa was 3 x times National and undefeated Karate champion of Iran up until the time he immigrated to India. Shinan Homa was the first person to introduce Kanzen Ryu Karate to India and taught classes there up until 1972 when he left to start a new life in Australia.
Shinan Homa has taught Karate in Australia ever since and has left a reputatable mark in the industry. He is one of the highest ranking Kanzen Ryu Karate Instructors in the world, holding a Renshi 7th Dan Black Belt.
Like his instructor, Shinan Homa has studied the techniques of many styles searching for the truth by constantly questioning and analysing the principals and mechanics of each technique.
Through his studies he has added to the evolution of Kanzen Ryu Karate, by introducing the principles and strategies of grappling and joint locks.
Shinan is also responsible for introducing a system of evasion, (body shifting) which is unique to Kanzen Ryu. Following the principals of body mechanics, balance and body weight transfer it is an extremely simple, dynamic, and effective form of shifting.
